
College honors Fall ’24 Outstanding Graduating Seniors
The University of Hawai‘i College of Engineering proudly announces its Fall 2024 Outstanding Graduating Seniors (OGS), selected by faculty for their academic excellence, leadership, and community contributions.
Brensen Manding – Civil, Environmental, and Construction Engineering
Brensen Manding, recognized as the OGS for Civil, Environmental, and Environmental Engineering, has demonstrated exceptional dedication to his studies and innovative problem-solving, earning the respect of his professors and peers alike.
Joy Maehara – Electrical and Computer Engineering
Joy Maehara combines technical expertise, leadership, and humility. With a 3.97 GPA, she has excelled as an Engineering Student Ambassador, led impactful programs like Wāhine Connect, and gained industry experience with Burns & McDonnell, where she will continue post-graduation.
Sapphira Akins – Mechanical Engineering
Sapphira Akins, the Mechanical Engineering OGS, has achieved a 3.82 GPA with a focus on Aerospace. Her work includes NASA’s CREPES CubeSat project and robotics research, alongside pursuits as a pilot in training, triathlete, and Air Force ROTC member.
