UH Manoa Begins Search for Dean of the College of Engineering

UH Manoa’s Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs has
initiated the formal search process for the regular appointment of the
Dean of the College of Engineering.

“The College of Engineering is an engine for leading edge, applications-
oriented research and entrepreneurship on the Manoa campus,” said Interim
Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Michael Bruno. “The College is also
the state’s primary provider of education and training in critically
needed engineering disciplines. The new Dean will be expected to lead the
faculty and staff in working closely with our state and federal
stakeholders, including the STEM education community, to achieve
significant growth in the education, research and service activities of
the College.”

School of Nursing and Dental Hygiene Dean Mary Boland will chair the
Engineering Search Advisory Committee.  The group will recommend finalists
to Interim Vice Chancellor Bruno, who in turn will recommend a selectee to
UH Manoa Interim Chancellor David Lassner.

The committee includes chairs, faculty, staff and students from their
respective units, as well as representatives from the Kualii Council and
UH alumni/community.
